Frequently asked questions
What are peptides?
Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as messengers in the body to signal specific biological functions. They may support weight loss, healthy aging, muscle growth, sleep, healing, and more.
Their targeted nature means they typically work with your body's OWN systems. Research on many peptides is ongoing, and your provider will review potential benefits and risks with you.
Are YOUR peptides safe?
Our peptides are prescription medications compounded by state-licensed U.S. 503A pharmacies that follow USP compounding standards. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and have not been evaluated by the FDA for safety or effectiveness.
Unlike lab grade products sold online, ours are cleaned of LPS (Lipopolysaccharide, a bacterial toxin), accurately dosed, and prescribed by our licensed physician.
We are not an online retailer, but a Telehealth company with a licensed physician who prescribes every peptide we offer (after medical approval) specifically for YOU. Everything we provide and prescribe is part of a medical process, not a retail purchase.
What is a coenzyme?
A coenzyme is an organic molecule that helps enzymes do their job more effectively. You can think of it as a helper molecule — it binds to an enzyme and helps it catalyze (speed up) chemical reactions in the body.
In simple terms:
· Enzyme = the worker
· Coenzyme = the tool the worker needs to get the job done
What are GLP-1s and GIP's?
GLP-1 (Glucagon-Like Peptide-1) receptor agonists are therapeutic peptides that mimic your body's natural GLP-1 hormone. This hormone plays a key role in regulating blood sugar levels, insulin secretion, appetite, and energy balance.
GLP-1 medications were first developed for type 2 diabetes and are now also prescribed to support weight management and metabolic health.
Common GLP-1 receptor agonists: Semaglutide and Tirzepatide (also a GIP receptor agonist).
At lower, personalized doses, your provider may take a gentler approach that focuses on how your body feels and functions, rather than a drastic metabolic shift. Research into other potential effects of GLP-1s is ongoing, and individual results vary.
GIP (Glucose-Dependent Insulinotropic Polypeptide) and glucagon are naturally occurring hormones that regulate metabolism and energy. When targeted alongside GLP-1, they may support a broader metabolic response than appetite alone. Research is ongoing.
Do I need a prescription?
Yes. Our peptide therapies are prescription-only and require a health consultation with our licensed provider, who determines whether treatment is appropriate for you.
Is bloodwork required?
For all GLP-1s (Semaglutide or Tirzepatide), current bloodwork is required before starting treatment. This helps us safely prescribe the medication and monitor important markers like blood sugar, kidney function, and liver enzymes.
Wellness, Beauty, and Strength peptides do not currently require bloodwork (subject to change at any time based on safety regulations).
How do I receive my peptides?
Once your treatment is approved, your peptides are shipped directly to your home in a cold pack from our partnering pharmacy. You'll receive clear instructions, supplies, and support for safe and simple self-administration.
How do I take peptides?
Most of our peptides are administered via subcutaneous injection (just under the skin) using a small insulin syringe. We provide easy-to-follow instructions and support to make this process simple and comfortable.
Do injections hurt?
Peptide injections use a small needle. Most people describe it as a slight pinch or barely feel it at all — and our team supports you through your first injection so it feels simple and comfortable.
What results can I expect?
Results vary from person to person and are not guaranteed. Depending on the peptide and your goals, some people notice changes in sleep, energy, skin, or body composition within a few weeks, while others take several months or notice little change. Your provider will talk through realistic expectations with you.
How long should I take peptides?
Peptides can be used short-term or long-term depending on your needs and goals. Our provider will recommend a personalized protocol for you, and regular check-ins ensure you stay on track.
Are there any side effects?
Side effects vary by peptide. Some people may experience mild irritation at the injection site, nausea, fatigue, or appetite changes depending on the peptide. We'll go over everything with you during your consult.
Can I take multiple peptides together?
Sometimes. When appropriate, your provider may prescribe more than one peptide, for example Tirzepatide alongside NAD+ or GHK-Cu, based on your goals and health history.
Can I take peptides if I'm trying to get pregnant or breastfeeding?
Not all peptides are recommended during this time. Always consult with our provider and your OB/GYN before starting any new treatment while TTC, pregnant, or breastfeeding.
How much does peptide therapy cost?
Pricing varies depending on the type of peptide, dosage, and duration of treatment. During your consultation, we'll go over your options and provide transparent pricing based on your goals and budget.
Do you accept insurance?
At this time, peptide therapy is not typically covered by insurance. However, many clients are able to use their Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for eligible expenses. Ask us for a detailed receipt if needed.
How do I know which peptides are right for me?
That's what we're here for! Our licensed provider will review your intake form, goals, and labs (if applicable) to recommend a personalized protocol tailored to your needs.
